How do I know if I am eligible to enter?
All entrants will need to fulfil all the following criteria:

Rural or regional Australia is considered a location, area, or non-capital regional city where that location’s key industry is primary production or mining, or an arid or desert location. Entrants located in state or territory capital cities and their surrounding metropolitan areas; or located in coastal locations where the key industry is tourism rather than primary production, are not eligible to participate. Entrants agree that the Promoter may determine what constitutes “rural or regional Australia” at the Promoter’s discretion. Here are the Terms and Conditions of entry for the BFTB Big Break competition.
These terms and conditions (Terms and Conditions) constitute your agreement with Widgeree Operating Trust trading as Buy From The Bush ABN 61685677546 (Promoter) in relation to the Buy From The Bush Big Break competition (Competition). The Competition is administered in conjunction with Edelman Australia and PayPal Australia. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram. You understand that you are providing your information to the Promoter and not to Instagram. Buy from the Bush Big Break Competition is based on the skill level of each entrant and as such not required to carry a permit in any state of Australia.
1. COMPETITION PERIOD
The Competition will commence on 28 September and will conclude on 28 October 2021 (“Competition Period”)
The window for entry into the Competition commences at 09:00 AM AEST on Tuesday 28th September and will close on Monday 11th October 2021 at 12:00pm AEST
On 15th October 2021, a shortlist (the Peoples’ Choice shortlist) of approximately fifteen (15) Entrants, chosen by the Promoter Judging Panel, will be announced and public voting to determine the People’s Choice Award will open (refer “People’s Choice Award”) on that date via the Buy From The Bush (BFTB) Competition landing page. Public voting opens once the People’s Choice shortlist is announced on 15 October 2021 and closes on Sunday 24th October 2021 at 11:59pm AEST.
On Thursday 21st October 2021, the top five (5) Entrants selected from the Peoples’ Choice shortlist, as evaluated and decided by the Judging Panel (refer to Judging Panel section below), will be notified privately via email that they have been selected for the Top 5 finalist’s shortlist and will be invited to present to the Judging Panel via a Virtual Pitch to be held on Monday 25th October 2021.
Two winners will be selected by the Judging Panel from the Top 5 finalist’s shortlist – the First Prize winner and Second Prize (Highly Commended) winner. One additional winner will be selected by public voting from the People’s Choice shortlist of approximately 15 entries, as the People’s Choice Award winner.
All three winners (First Prize, Second Prize and the People’s Choice Award) will be notified privately on Tuesday 26th October 2021 by email. On Thursday 28th October 2021, upon acceptance by reply email, the winners will be announced publicly. Each winning entry is entitled to one prize only (see Prize details below).

3. JUDGING CRITERIA
Judging criteria for 2-3 min video entries and Instagram reels (or 15 second videos on Facebook)
Virtual Pitch judging criteria – for notified Top 5 finalist shortlist only
4. HOW TO ENTER AND JUDGING PROCESS
Step 1 – Entries open on Tuesday 28th September and will close on Monday 11th October 2021 at 12:00pm AEST
Entry form and 2-3 minute pitch video. Visit the Competition landing page https://www.buyfromthebush.com.au/promo/bftb-big-break to enter the Buy From the Bush Big Break Competition. Complete the online entry form, upload a high resolution profile image, as well as a pitch video (with a duration of 2-3 minutes) outlining your business idea.
15 second Instagram reel or 15 second Facebook video. Entrants will also need to post a 15 second Instagram Reel promoting their business/product idea in a fun and engaging way across your personal or business Instagram channel. The Instagram Reel must include the following handles and tags in the caption: @buyfromthebush @paypalau #buyfromthebush, #BFTBbigbreak #BFTBxPayPal. A link to the Instagram reel must be included in the entry form on the Competition landing page. If Entrants are posting to their personal Instagram account, the account must be public for the purpose of this Competition.
If Entrants do not have access to Instagram, a 15 second video posted to Facebook is acceptable. The 15 second video uploaded to Facebook should include the hashtags mentioned above and a link to the Facebook 15 second video must be included in the entry form on the Competition landing page in place of the link to an Instagram reel. If Entrants are posting to their personal Facebook account, the account must be public for the purpose of this Competition.
Step 2 – Peoples’ Choice shortlist and voting
Approximately fifteen (15) entrants will be selected for inclusion in the People’s Choice shortlist based on the judging criteria for the 2-3 minute pitch videos and 15 second Instagram reels or 15 second Facebook videos (section 3) and selected entrants will be notified by email on the 15th October 2021.
Peoples’ Choice shortlisted entrants will have their 2-3 minute pitch videos made available for public viewing and voting on buyfromthebush.com.au. Public voting will commence on 15th October 2021 via an online form on buyfromthebush.com.au and conclude on 24th October 2021 at 11:59pm AEST. The People’s Choice shortlisted finalist with the most votes on buyfromthebush.com.au, that is neither the winner of the First Prize or Second (Highly Commended) Prize as evaluated by the Judging Panel, will be deemed the “People’s Choice Award Winner”.
The People’s Choice Award Winner will be notified on Tuesday 26th October by email and, upon acceptance by reply email within 24 hours, be announced on Thursday 28th October.
Step 3 – Top 5 Finalist Shortlist: Virtual Pitch and One-Page Business Plan.
To determine the Top 5 Finalists, the Judging Panel will review the People’s Choice shortlist of approximately 15 entrants and evaluate based on the judging criteria for pitch videos and 15 second Instagram reels or 15 second Facebook videos (section 3).
Entrants selected by the Judging Panel for the Top 5 finalist shortlist will be sent an invitation by email on Thursday 21st October to present their business idea at a live Virtual Pitch which will be conducted via video meeting on Monday 25 October. Notified Top 5 finalists will have 24 hours to confirm their participation in the Virtual Pitch by reply email.
The Top 5 shortlisted finalists will also need to submit a one-page Business Plan or ‘lean canvas business plan’ via a simple form on the Competition landing page by Sunday 24th October at 11:59pm AEST
Virtual Pitches will take place on Monday 25th October 2021 via live video meeting and will be open only to those entrants that have been chosen and notified as the Top 5 finalist shortlist and have confirmed their participation in the Virtual Pitch and business plan submission.
5. REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES
Each Entrant represents and warrants that:
a. its products, including branding and packaging, comply with all applicable laws (including all eighteen years and above marking and labelling requirements); and do not contain any sexually explicit, defamatory or obscene materials; and do not violate any third party’s copyright, trademark, design, database or other rights;
b. it will at all times act with due regard to public morals and conventions and must not behave in a manner that offends a substantial portion of the community or reflects unfavourably on the Promoter or its products and services;
c. it has full authority to grant the Promoter the rights referred to in these Terms & Conditions; and
d. it will indemnify the Promoter, Edelman and PayPal Australia against all loss, damage and liabilities arising from a breach of any of the warranties in these Terms & Conditions.
e. each entry is original and authentic in nature, does not infringe on any existing copyright, trademark, third party intellectual property rights, and or other existing branding.
Failure to adhere to the originality clause (e) will result in instant disqualification from Competition.
First Prize Winner, Second Prize ‘Highly Commended’ Winner and People’s Choice Award Winner will be notified 26th October 2021 privately by email and will have 24 hours to accept by reply email. Public announcement will be made 28th October 2021 on Buy From The Bush Competition landing page https://www.buyfromthebush.com.au/promo/bftb-big-break, the BFTB associated Instagram social channel, the PayPal Australia Newsroom.
There are a total of three cash prizes to be awarded as part of the Competition, with the prize pool totalling to $60,000 AUD. This is broken down into the First Prize Winner ($30,000 AUD), Second Prize ‘Highly Commended’ Winner ($15,000 AUD) and People’s Choice Award Winner ($15,000 AUD).
The First Prize and Second Prize Winners will be determined by the Judging Panel and will respectively receive the First and Second Prizes as defined below. Each winning entry is only entitled to one prize.
The winner of either First or Second Prize is not entitled to also receive the prize for “People’s Choice Award”. If the winner of either the Judging Panel-selected First or Second Prize also receives the most public votes in the People’s Choice voting process, the People’s Choice Award will be granted to that entry that has the next highest number of public votes and which is neither the First or Second (Highly Commended) prize winner.

Condition on Prize Winnings
All entries, and materials submitted to Buy From The Bush in connection with the Competition (collectively, “Entry Materials”), along with all associated copyright and other proprietary rights, except as reserved by relevant third parties, become the property of Buy From The Bush upon submission, and any Entry Materials will not be returned to any entrant.
All Prizes are non-transferable. The decision of the Judging Panel (Section 7) is final and binding. If any Prize or any element of a Prize becomes unavailable or is otherwise unable to be provided, the Promoter may substitute a Prize or element of a Prize of equal or greater value, subject to any written directions from the relevant authorities. Winners will not be entitled to any additional compensation in the event that the Prize or element of a Prize has been substituted at equal or greater value.
Cash Prizes to be distributed within 30 working days after First Prize Winner, Second Prize Winner and People’s Choice Award Winner accept their prize.
First Prize and Second Prize Winners will be notified on or by Tuesday 26th October 2021, via email. Winners must accept the Prize by reply email and acknowledge the prize winning within twenty-four hours as of the time of the email notification (Wednesday 27th October 11:59pm AEST) otherwise the Prize will be considered unclaimed. If the Prize remains unclaimed, despite the Promoter making all reasonable efforts to notify the Winner, the next entry that best meets the judging criteria, as determined by the Judging Panel, will be deemed a replacement Winner and such a replacement Winner must accept the Prize by email within twenty-four hours of the date of the relevant email notification. If a Prize remains unclaimed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, this replacement procedure will be repeated, and the Prize will be offered to the next entry that best meets the judging criteria as determined under these Terms and Conditions.
By accepting a Prize, Entrants consent to the use of their name, state of residence, likeness or Prize information for promotional and other reasonable purposes without further payment, except where prohibited by law. Winners may be required to participate in Buy From The Bush's reasonable marketing and promotional activities.
This process is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Non winners will not be notified.
If you are a winner and you submit any material, including but not limited to photographs, videos or testimonials, to Buy From The Bush for use or publication in connection with Buy From The Bush’s reasonable marketing and promotional activities, including but not limited to Buy From The Bush’s official social media activities, you waive any right you may have to inspect or approve the activities and you release and discharge Buy From The Bush, Edelman Australia and PayPal Australia from any claims or liability relating to Buy From The Bush’s reasonable use of your material.
Winners are responsible for all taxes, expenses, insurance premiums, and any ancillary cost that may be payable as a consequence of receiving a Prize or an Awarded Product.
7. JUDGING PANEL
The Judging Panel of the Competition is composed of:
If one of the Judging Panel members is unable to fulfil their role as a judge in the Competition, the Promoter may appoint another judge at the Promoter’s discretion.
8. PROMOTER’S LIABILITY
The Promoter is only liable for damages suffered as a result of wilful misconduct or gross negligence by the Promoter. In case of minor negligence, the Promoter is only liable for
a. injury to life, body, or health; or
b. foreseeable typically occurring damages resulting from the breach of a fundamental contractual obligation. The Promoter will not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages.

The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrants who provides false information, fails to provide information, conspires with others to gain an unfair advantage or is otherwise involved in any conduct that involves manipulating, interfering or tampering with the Competition or otherwise preventing the conduct of the Competition Throughout as intended by the Promoter.
